Privacy Policy
Your recovery is personal. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you keep.

Who we are
InnerAscent (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is operated by Moblers and is available at innerascent.app. We built InnerAscent for people working a Twelve Steps program (such as NA or AA). Anonymity is central to what we do — you can use the app with a nickname only, without sharing your real name.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the service:
- Nickname — a display name you choose. It does not have to be your real name.
- Email address (optional) — used to sign in, recover your account, and manage premium access if you subscribe. We do not sell email addresses.
- Approximate location (optional) — used only to suggest nearby meetings. You can deny location access and still use the app.
- Recovery content you create — journal entries, step writing, clean-time date, meeting logs, and similar data you choose to save. This content belongs to you.
- Technical data — such as device type, app version, and push-notification tokens, so we can deliver notifications and keep the service secure and reliable.
How we use information
- To provide core features: the Twelve Steps journey, journaling, meetings finder, sponsor tools, reminders, and optional premium features.
- To back up and sync your data when you sign in on more than one device.
- To send notifications and reminders you enable.
- To operate the optional AI Reflection Assistant, which uses prompts you send and, when relevant, your own journal or step context to generate a response.
- To respond to support requests and protect the security of the service.
Service providers
We use trusted third-party processors under contract. They may process data only on our instructions and only as needed to operate the app:
- Google Firebase — sign-in, cloud storage, and push notifications.
- OpenAI — powers the optional AI Reflection Assistant.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers — to run the website, API, and related services.
We do not sell your personal information.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not share your private recovery content with other users unless you explicitly choose to (for example, when sharing with a sponsor). We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users, or in connection with a merger or acquisition of our business — in which case this policy would continue to apply.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You can delete much of your content from within the app. You may also contact us to request account deletion. Where applicable (including under the EU/UK GDPR), you may lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Retention and security
We retain your data while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize personal data, except where we must keep limited records for legal, security, or accounting reasons. We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit and at rest for stored recovery content.
Children
InnerAscent is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country).
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last updated” date.
